20 Deep Winery

BRAND IDENTITY, ART DIRECTION, PACKAGING

Starting with the name, 20 Deep was inspired by how deep vine roots will grow into the earth—which speaks to the winery’s commitment to the community. To bring the name to life through a logo, the visual direction quickly conveys the hand-crafted nature of wine-making and the general human need to express oneself—something that the winery owners are doing through the brand and product. We carried that thinking over to a graphic system where we paired large abstract brush strokes with clean type, and a color palette that is approachable and welcoming.

For the packaging, we created a tiered system to help customers navigate their range of wines. From All Stars (premium), Rare Gems (limited edition), Remixes (experimental) and Mainstays (go-tos), we applied the tiers to a super templated label so the owners can update as they release new batches.

Lastly we avoided simply slapping their logo on t-shirt for merchandise. We wanted to elevate 20 Deep to a lifestyle brand with merch that fits into customers’ lives and subtly reminds them of their favorite winery with brewery vibes.
